Rob Newman
Apparently Rob Newman has started as the new Head of Recruitment and the word is he will takeover from Sullivan and work with Moyes in identifying and bringing in new players. If they can do this then the future in terms of signings suddenly looks much brighter. Good luck to them both, roll on January and lets see if this really is the case! (FootballFancast)

Re: Rob Newman
I assume this will follow the usual route of what fails Sullivans kids begged him not to buy, and what is successful was all Sullivans selections.

Looking forward to some Newman and Baddiel comments. See that centre forward at Genk? That’s your Dad that is.

Re: Rob Newman
Only ever played at low levels as a player, then become a failed manager, and low and behold then become this great scout at Man City?? Possible, I suppose, but I'll go 'dury out' for now, if that's okay.

Re: Rob Newman
Wasn’t he in the Norwich team that turned Bayern over.? They weren’t exactly lower league.

Re: Rob Newman
He spent virtually his whole playing career in the lower leagues, try hard. Like I say, I'm not convinced, but you can get your cock out over one game if you want.

Re: Rob Newman
I ain’t getting nothing out mate. If the guy was a superstar at all levels of his football career. He wouldn’t be a light year near West Ham.

Re: Rob Newman
Exactly, that's my point mate. Lower level player, failed manager, but he morphed into this great scout? We shall see.

How many world class players did Bobby Moore discover during his spell(s) as a manager?

Re: Rob Newman
Genuine question have any top players gone on to be great recruiters of players or whatever his role is?

Can't see Ronaldo or Messi being anywhere near that sort of role, and I'd say low level players can spot what they lacked in talent themselves as a player from miles off where a top player is too wrapped up in their own genius.

Re: Rob Newman
It's possible that Newman did stumble upon something he is good at after failing as a player and manager. I suppose time will tell, although it will be difficult to judge him anyway. The recruitment under Moyes has been very good anyway, but he maybe has other roles too other than putting on his raincoat and watching games all over.
